Washing fabric instructions (Jeannie McKinney)

Do you get tangled material when washing it? Here’s a “helpful hint”.

Some of you may already do this. When I have a large piece of fabric, I open it out full, then accordion fold it into about 18" folds. I  use  large  pins ( like  diaper  pins)  and  pin  the  folds together. Put the fabric in the machine and wash. This way you save the tangling from occurring.  I  shake  out the  fabric  from  the  washer, put fabric into the dryer and then do the  same  when  I  take  the  fabric  out  of  the  dryer. You have less problems with tangles and the fabric shakes out rather smooth. This makes it easier to press also.

Secret Potion for ironing wrinkles out of material) (Jeannie McKinney)

Use 1/4 cup of liquid starch and 2 full cups of water.  Shake well.

Use a small pistol sprayer and always give the sprayer a little shake on the fabric on the wrong side of the fabric.

Press on the right side of the fabric.  Stay-Flo comes in a blue 2 quart container and I find it in the laundry isle at the grocery store.

It is fun to use a small size pistol sprayer, amke a big batch of "secret" and then fill up the small pistosl and give as figts to crafters and sewers.

Using your cutting mat to "Cutting scraps from your material" (Jeannie McKinney)

Use the back side of your mat so at not to wear down your front side of your mat for your regular projects.  Saves wear and tear on your cutting mat and money, too.

"Smelly Towels" (Karen Wilson)

Are you ready to throw away your towels because they are starting to smell? - Don't!

Here is a solution to get the mildew smell out of smelly towels-it's a super easy recipe and it works!

2 cups of Borax

2 cups vinegar

Soak the towels overnight in the washing machine in warm water with vinegar and borax.  In the morning, run them through the wash cycle.  Wash the towels again with borax and detergent and dry as usual.

Using this process, the towels come out great and fresh! This will keep your towels smelling good for several washings.
